Facilities
Hydro-Horse Aqua-Treadmill
This unique ‘Hydro-Pool’ is temperature controlled and heated to approximately 85 degrees; it has 16 Jacuzzi variable directional jets providing therapy to the front and hind limbs. The horse is partially submerged to approximately chest height and can be exercised from a slow walk to a brisk trot.
There is no abnormal gait movement and because of the resistance against the water and the buoyancy, greatly increases stamina and makes it ideal for horses returning from injury, young horses being prepared for the sales (as they can be conditioned without jarring), helping to prevent and treat conditions such as Degenerative Joint Disease, Spavins, Jarred/Sore Shoulders, Sore-Shins, etc or simply as a therapeutic ‘change of scenery’. The Aqua-treadmill is an outstanding conditioning exercise which can improve forearm and shoulder muscles in the front, and stifle, loin and gaskin muscles in the hind quarters. Because it encourages consistent movement, unbalanced muscles can be eliminated.

3.5 Furlong Circular All-Weather Gallop/Canter
This can be easily reached across the fields for those that are ‘traffic-shy’ or less than a mile away by a quite rural lane, making it ideal for ‘warming-up’ and ‘cooling-down before and after exercise. This all-weather is wide enough to exercise ‘up-sides’, is white railed and being on a slight gradient makes the horses work that little bit harder and is also good for their balance. The surface itself is a wax coated rubber and silica sand mix which is neither too firm nor too deep.
Hydrotherapy Spa
The Equine Hydrotherapy Spa is an excellent form of Therapy and Treatment for various leg/foot injuries and conditions. It works and deals with the three main symptoms which can occur due to an injury.
- Pain
- Heat
- Swelling/Inflammation.
One of the most natural ways of encouraging the dispersal of excess fluids caused during an acute injury, is the application of cold, saline therapy.
The Equine Spa works on four basic factors:
- Temperature
- Salt Concentration
- Depth of Water
- Aeration
Typical conditions which respond well to this type of Therapy include:
- Tendonitis and Suspensory Injuries
- Sore Shins
- Joint Conditions
- Ligament Injuries
- General Soreness & Stiffness
- Cuts & Bruises
- Laminitis
- Brittle Hooves
- Poor Hoof Growth
In summary, the Spa is a Temperature Controlled, Saline, Cold Water Jacuzzi where the water level can be raised to just above hock height for maximum effect to treat not only existing injuries and conditions, but also as a preventative therapy treatment as well.
